Component Context Picker is a developer tool that lets you select an element on the active webpage and copy its component context to your clipboard. This policy explains what the extension processes locally and the limited anonymous analytics it sends after a successful copy.
When you explicitly activate the extension, it lets you select a UI element on the active webpage. It can generate component context for React, Vue, Angular, or HTML, and can optionally capture the visible tab when you request an image copy.
The extension processes the selected webpage element and related component context locally in your browser to provide its user-facing functionality. Depending on the options you choose, this can include HTML, component information, props and state, and an optional screenshot.
This website content is not sent to our servers, Cloudflare, PostHog, or any other third party. The extension does not transmit URLs, domains, page titles, HTML, props, state, component names, selectors, screenshots, clipboard contents, errors, error messages, stacks, or browsing history.
After a successful text or image copy, the extension sends one anonymous copy_completed event over HTTPS to:
https://context-picker-events.dialguiba.com/v1/events
This endpoint is a Cloudflare Worker operated for Component Context Picker. The Worker validates the event, applies rate limiting, and forwards accepted events to PostHog Cloud US for product analytics.
The event contains only:
- An opaque, random UUID representing the local extension installation
- The detected framework: React, Vue, Angular, or HTML
- A confirmed supported library classification, if available
- Which Component Context Picker options were enabled
- Whether the successful copy was text or image
The event does not contain webpage content or identifiers of the inspected website or person.
We use this limited data only to measure adoption, reliability, and usage of the extension's disclosed functionality. We do not sell it, use it for advertising or credit decisions, or transfer it for unrelated purposes.
For an existing installation upgraded from a version without analytics, the extension waits for confirmation of its analytics notice before creating the installation identifier or sending an event.
The extension stores your context-output preferences using Chrome storage.
It also stores the analytics-consent state and the opaque random installation identifier locally in chrome.storage.local. These values do not
contain page content, URLs, clipboard data, screenshots, or personal information.
You can remove locally stored extension data, including the installation identifier, by removing the extension from Chrome.
The extension writes component context, and optionally an image with context, to the clipboard only when you explicitly activate the picker and select an element.
The extension does not read clipboard contents.
The extension requests temporary access to the active tab only after you invoke it. This access is used only to inspect the element you select, generate the requested context, and optionally capture the visible tab for an image copy.
The extension does not load or execute remote code. All executable code is bundled with the extension.
The Cloudflare request is an HTTPS JSON analytics request; it does not download or execute code.
Cloudflare processes the limited anonymous analytics event at the endpoint above. PostHog Cloud US receives the validated event for analytics.
No webpage content is shared with either processor.
