You can build multiple portals. They stay with the cards you last gave them and you can re-open them.
Ingredients augment existing abilities of the item, they do not add. e.g. melee damage ingots will increase melee damage of an axe, but won't add melee damage to a shirt. What stats an item has is not possible to see without crafting it or previewing in work station.
Item level comes from recipe + ingredients + enchantments + augments + upgrade. Actual stats don't matter.
Save iron, copper, zinc, tin ores, they can be smelted into different ingots.
Upgrading is the biggest boost to item level, get excellent upgrade station as soon as possible. Ingredients and enchantments help a bit, can get you from 190 - 200, but much more than that
You can place things on top of or even clipping into things, it can be fiddly. If something is holding up another object, it can't be moved.
You can convert meat -> animal fiber -> thread to get meat stats onto clothing.
You can shoot the pylons for the intelligence puzzles.
