- Connect printer via USB to a Windows computer.
- In Windows Explorer find out the drive letter of the auto mounted HP disk
- Run cmd as "administrator" and type the drive letter to switch to that drive. i.e.
e:
and hit enter. - Running
dir
should showSISetup.exe
. If so, typeSISetup.exe
and hit enter. - Go through the setup process and select "setup wireless" for the printer.
- Enter wireless network name and password and continue installation.
- Once complete it will prompt you to set up eprint services. Agree to this prompt.
- Examine your network to find the ip address of the now connected printer.
- Enter the ip address into your browser to connect to access it's configuration via it's embedded web server.
- Check the firmare version and compare it to the latest version: Google search
hp laserjet p1102w firmware
and download and run the firware update tool. - Go back to the configuration page (via printer ip address in browser) and click on the "HP Web Services" tab which should now be visible.
- On that page click on "Print Info Sheet" button which will print the printer's "claim code" which you need to connect to your HP ePrint account.
- Login to HP ePrint and add the printer using the claim code and set the printer's email address.
- The printer should now print when it receives email and also should be discoverable as a network printer for local devices.
