This file briefly describes main moments of fresh isntalling process and troubleshooting of most common erros and mistakes.
Before follow steps below create Time Mashine or any other backup copy of your files!!!
###Create Bootable USB or CD/DVD This step is very common to every one who even once tried to reinstall fresh copy of Mac OS X since 10.6
- Launch Disk Utility
- Select target USB or CD/DVD
- Click on Recovery Tab
- As source select mouned DMG file with OS X (Exctracted from Installation app -> Contents/SharedSupport/InstallESD.dmg)
- As target set your USB or CD/DVD
- Click on Recover button
###Boot up from USB or CD/DVD
- After sturtup shime hold ALT (Option) key untill you see bootable devices
- Select with left/right arrows your USB or CD/DVD
- After loading you will see 4 options (http://i.i.cbsi.com/cnwk.1d/i/tim/2011/08/03/Recovery1.png):
- Restore from Time Mashine
- Reinstall Mac OS X
- Get help online
- Disk Utility
- To format our build-in HDD/SDD click on "Disk Utility"
- Select target HDD/SDD click on erase tab
- NOTE: If you would like to encrypt your internal drive - do it only after installation!! NEVER format drive into HFS+ Encrypted before MAC OS X Installation!!
- Select HFSJ+ (Mac OS X Extended Journaled) | Read why journaled - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2355
- Set name: Macintosh HD
- Click on "Erase"
- To confirm what drive is not damaged click on "Verify Disk" for Drive and Partition
- Close the Disk Utility
- Go to "Reinstall Mac OS X"
- Agree with all terms and Conditiona and keep clicking on Next/Continue button
- After process of installing and prepearing is started, but before first reboot - Never stop/turn off/unplug/interrupt the machine!!
- Known errors on this step:
- Can't download additional files/packets/whateverelse - the only known way to resolve this is improve your internet connection, use wired connection and keep trying to install OS X again and again

- After prepearing is done machine (Your Mac) going to reboot
- Known errors on this step:
- Installation Failed please try to install.. - Only one known method to get out from this loop of machine rebboting is reseting NVRAM/PRAM - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379 | Basically this erro means HDD/SDD errors, interraption errors (unexpected shutdown)
- No bootable drive, folder with question mark, etc. - Rebbot your Mac and hold ALT (Option) key, when select internal HDD/SSD where MAC OS X is installed
- Known errors on this step:
- If everything os OK you will see Installation progress bar - here you will need to wait about 20 mins
- Next you will need to set iCloud account, localtime, etc.
