Week 28: July 9 – 15

• M: Long-running projects are demoralizing. Also, 💫 criticism is only good if it informs.
• T: Satire always works: Cards Against Humanity for Her
• W: Current state of React & Three.js rendering: throw it in componentDidMount(). Avoid limiters like react-three. Made Garbage 🌵.
• T: Firefox chokes on translating SVG shapes, but can CSS translate (with mask) no prob. Had to split 1 SVG into multiple and layer manually. Made animated graphic with Snap.svg and Mo.js.
• F: Learned about CSS scroll snap points.
• S: Gave Design of the Web talk to Weekend Code Warriors. Got good response giving tools suggestions, and talking about salary and job opportunities.

Week 29: July 16 – 22

• M: Learned to empower people by letting them give me direction. Working on my attitude in this. Also cubes in CSS are harder than they look.
• T:
• W: Justin gets triggered by empaths.
• T: Learned how to host a site on AWS S3.
• F: Set up a business banking account. Businesses can build credit & invest, too.

Week 30: July 23 – 29

• W: Discovered Principle and fell in love with UI animation. Learned how to recreate the P5 menu selector in SVG.
• T: Realize I’ve never been mentored in design.
• F: Communicate truthfully. Watched Paula Scher’s Abstract episode. Learned when to end meetings. And rediscovered NY’s beauty. Also sketched. Discovered I can still draw.

Week 31: July 30 – Aug 5

• M: Theatre is magic  (Es Devlin)
• T: Hacksaws can cut through 1/8" steel
• W: Tech Rocket blowup: clients can be cray. Also, It’s easier to make a graphic novel than I thought ✨ (Spera). Also, I have a burning desire to do so now! Bjarke Ingels is bae. Patterns are more important than milestones. Patterns over milestones. Patterns.
• T: Cinema4D, like much of 3D, has changed very little. Also, it has marble built-in, which explains all the marble 3D
• F: “Everything you see and hear is talking to you.” — Jim Carrey. Also, MACBOOKS HAVE GYROSCOPES WHAT

Week 32: Aug 6 – 12

• W: Type designers and typigraphers are a close-knit bunch. One question can pique all their interest at once.
• T: Never knew how passionate Nate was about meme music. Some get it; some don’t.
• F:
• S: Charlottesville. Our country has dark shadows.

Week 33: Aug 13 – 19

• M: Some people can find passion if you give them an opportunity.
• T: I was born to make comics. Draw every day.
• W: Fonts are hard. Life is good with a wife. All afternoon in bed. Prosecution should always fight “an uphill battle.” Innocence is the starting point, and it must take more than bad opinion to remove that. Also, George Donald was a bomb-ass anatomy teacher.
• T: Worked from home. Finished Making a Murderer. True justice is hard. I need to focus one one thing at a time. Milt Kahl. Time to meditate.
