The enclosed config.xml file will instruct Jenkins to check out and build llvm + clang, archiving the resulting clang binary.
The configuration will build daily and will retain builds for 5 days.
To add it to your Jenkins install, just copy the config.xml file to e.g.:
jobs/Clang/config.xml
Then "reload configuration" in Jenkins, or stop and start Jenkins to reload it implicitly.

Use a UIRefreshControl with a UIViewController that contains a tableView property.
// Set up the UIRefreshControl.
self.refreshControl = [[UIRefreshControl alloc] init];
[self.refreshControl addTarget:self

forControlEvents:UIControlEventValueChanged];
// Create a UITableViewController so we can use a UIRefreshControl.

The fun of implementing date support
After spending the better part of the month implementing date support
in RethinkDB, Mike Lucy sent the team the following e-mail. It would
have been funny, if it didn't cause thousands of programmers so much
pain. Read it, laugh, and weep!
-----
So, it turns out that we're only going to support dates between the
year 1400 and the year 10000 (inclusive), because that's what boost
supports.

The xib compiler in Xcode 5.0.1 always sets the scaling bit of all NSViews which results in dramatically reduced performance. Until Apple fixes this severe bug, we work around this by patching NSKeyedUnarchiver to clear the bit during decoding of the compiled xib files. By the way: We filed this bug three months ago under rdar://14359398.
@interface NSKeyedUnarchiver (Xcode5Fix)
@end
@implementation NSKeyedUnarchiver (Xcode5Fix)
+ (void)load
{
[self exchangeInstanceMethod:@selector(decodeInt32ForKey:)
withMethod:@selector(xcode5Fix_decodeInt32ForKey:)];
}

Greetings, NSHipsters!

As we prepare to increment our NSDateComponents -year by 1, it's time once again for NSHipster end-of-the-year Reader Submissions! Last year, we got some mind-blowing tips and tricks. With the release of iOS 7 & Mavericks, and a year's worth of new developments in the Objective-C ecosystem, there should be a ton of new stuff to write up for this year.

Submit your favorite piece of Objective-C trivia, framework arcana, hidden Xcode feature, or anything else you think is cool, and you could have it featured in the year-end blowout article. Just comment on this gist below!

Here are a few examples of the kind of things I'd like to see:

  • Using NSStringFromSelector(@selector()) as a safer way to do KVC / KVO / NSCoding.
  • Panic's [rather surprising discovery about the internals of the Lightning Digital AV Adapter](http://www.panic.com/blog/the-lightning-di
