- Turn on two-factor authentication for all services that provide it (Google, Apple ID, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, bank account, and now, Instagram)
- Use a password manager (1Password, LastPass, KeePassX, iCloud Keychain)
- Use a strong passcode (at least 6 digits)
- Get Signal for secure texts, phone calls, and video calls — App Store
- Get Onion Browser for secure web browsing — App Store
- Get an ad blocker like 1Blocker to avoid all tracking ads — App Store
- Review your Location Services permissions
- Get Signal for secure texts, phone calls, and video calls — Google Play store
- Get Orbot and Orweb for secure web browsing — Google Play store
- Use a strong passcode (at least 6 digits)
- Turn on encryption in the settings if it isn’t already on
- Review your Location Services permissions
- Get the Tor Browser for secure web browsing
- Get Privacy Badger to avoid trackers and tracking ads
- Get an ad blocker like uBlock to avoid all tracking ads
- Encrypt all of your computer files with FileVault for macOS or BitLocker for Windows
- Advanced tip: Consider using the Tails operating system
