Dear Recruiter or Hopeful Employer,
I'm going to be frank.
I don't have the time or energy to have a phone chat with every recruiter who contacts me. If you want to know about me, such as if I'm worth pursuing, I can answer any questions you have via email. I will only talk on the phone to the employees of the prospective company.
- Are you looking for a new job?
Not really, unless it meets my specific criteria. - What positions are you most interested in?
Developer Evangelist, UX Designer/Developer, and UI/Frontend Engineer/Architect. - Where do you want to work?
Fully Telecommute-able. - What vertical do you like to work in?
I don't care, but I think I'd prefer Business2Cconsumer so that I can eat my own dog food and therefore care about the product. - Why do we want you?
Tell the engineers to checkout my Github or google "Eddie Monge". - What is a good time to setup an interview?
Email me so we can find a time.
- I don't care how many millions you've raised or what names they have backing them
- I don't care how many high-profile clients you have
- I don't care how quickly growing or long you've been around
- I don't care what CEO or CTO from whatever companies you have working for you
- What technologies do you use?
- Backend tech stack?
- Frontend tech stack?
- Product, software, saas?
- Issue / code tracker tool? (Bugzilla, github, pivotal, asana)
- What are the hours?
- What time / days are most people in the office?
- What time is your standup (if you have one)?
- What perks (if any) do you offer other than base packages?
- Do the employees hang out together outside the office?
- Is anyone active in Open Source communities?
- Does the company attend / host hackathons / competitions / conferences and when was the last one? How many employees are involved?
Hey dude, I was getting some criticism on my original version so I rewrote it to be more polite and informational. If you DO use this, you may want to checkout my revisions and do the same to yours.
