Hi (again),
skip this if you remember me :)
I'm Édouard Lopez, a French UX developer living in Bordeaux, where the tech community has been expanding frantically for the last couple of years. I try to bring what I can to this growth by organizing and facilitating events in various communities such as BordeauxJS, Coding Goûter (code for kids), Django Girls, Wikipedia, FLOSS group, L@bX Hackerspace and help people from various backgrounds to meet and share in order to improve.~~
Okiwi is a local association/community that thrives to help developers spend some times together to talk, share, practices, drink and improve. Among the events organized by Okiwi there is an Agile Tour around late October.
A day to practice and train. This is a global event, following the coderetreat format that let you practice and train your developer skills on simple problems –e.g. Convay's game of life– by pair-programming during 1-hour session.
To make it more fun, every hour, new constraints are added to the previous one. This is to force developpre outside of their comfort zone and discover new way to solve a problem.
Thus, every session is an occasion to discover new approach and refactor your code for improvements. BTW, that's also the time to try new programming languages with a help of people that are already fluent with them.
It takes all day, starting from 8:45 AM, with a break to share a meal together, then resume until 6 PM and finish by sharing a drink.
- a place to be collaborative ;
- share your knowledge ;
- code, new techs and fun involved ;
Some goodies for people to spread the love about good craftsmanship, open-source, inclusion and remember the event. So t-shirts would be great as well as stickers.
Thanks :D
