Hi,
I'm Édouard Lopez, a French UX developer living in Bordeaux, where the tech community has been expanding frantically for the last couple of years. I try to bring what I can to this growth by organizing and facilitating events in various communities such as BordeauxJS, Coding Goûter (code for kids), Django Girls, Wikipedia, FLOSS group, L@bX Hackerspace and help people from various backgrounds to meet and share in order to improve.
Okiwi is a local association/community that thrives to help developers spend some times together to talk, share, practices, drink and improve. Among the events organized by Okiwi there is an Agile Tour around late October and the Geek Camp in early September.
The Geek Camp is an event organized is a week-end during which tech people get out of their offices to go into the wilderness talk, share and collaborate on what they like. This is the 3rd time we have this event and we are pushing to involve a more diverse public such as women, kids. And as we worked with the Django Girls throughout the year, this happen be a great way to talk about the future of their community and similar one (we got a Rails Girls community on its way)
- there is no established program ;
- a place to be collaborative ;
- share your knowledge ;
- code, new techs and fun involved ;
- BBQ, hiking, Frisbee and open activities ;
- sleeping in a tent!
Some goodies for people to spread the love about good craftsmanship, open-source, inclusion and remember the event. So t-shirts would be great as well as stickers
