OpenSSH_5.9p1 version is too old, it only use rsa file with -----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY----- begin and with -----END RSA PRIVATE KEY-----, but your rsa begin with -----BEGIN OPENSSH PRIVATE KEY----- and end with -----END RSA PRIVATE KEY-----.
you need update your OpenSSH version.
