## Who are you:
* I am someone who has found great success and fulfillment when I am in roles that challenge me - specifically, roles that allow me to tackle difficult problems and use my communication and critical thinking skills to arrive at a creative solution. I felt most fulfilled working for Teach for America as a classroom teacher and administator in high-needs schools in CO. The work was incredibly challenging, yet rewarding. However, the lack of a clear career path that would allow me to achieve my financial goals pushed me out of the field.
*After leaving teaching, I've struggled to find a career that challenges me the way that education did. Although my last career in the private sector (digital marketing) did not leave me very fulfilled, it allowed me to build a strong skillset that I leveraged when I decided to start my own business. This new venture has been incredibly fulfilling and successful, and has inspired me to pursue opportunities that challenge me and allow me to make my own decisions.
*Turing has been incredibly humbling so far, in the most positive sense of the word. I've been challenged beyond my imagination and pushed to the limits in terms of what I can learn and how quickly I can apply it. I can't wait to take on a career in tech where I can continue to grow, learn and push myself to new levels.
## Why are you here:
* I am at Turing to continue to build my skillset and find a career that continues to challenge me. I felt that my old job wouldn't exist in about 6-8 years so I wanted to be proactive and find a career that would be valuable and viable for years to come. I think that programming offers a unique opportunity for someone to show creativity, tackle complex problems, and ideally, carve out a unique niche that will allow me to create another business of my own.
## What's next:
* After Turing, I want to find a job that prioritizes developing it's employees in a progressive and challenging environment. While Turing offers a jumpstart on diving into the tech space, it is by no means the end of the learning process. Ideally, I want to find a role where I can build my skills for a few years before I feel comfortable enough to journey out onto my own and land a remote role or do my own thing.
## What was particularly easy or difficult about telling your story? What are 1-2 steps that you can take to continue to improve your abilities to tell your story, talk about yourself with ease, and examine your strengths?
* I think it can be difficult to be succinct in your delivery while also providing the necessary context for your story. To improve my storytelling, I need to figure out which pieces make the most sense for the specific job I am applying for. This will allow me to be more purposeful with what pieces I tell. Also, I need to have a few specific stories that highlight the qualities I think stand out in my own character.
