Expose IIS or IISExpress running in a Parallels Windows 7/8 VM to your OS X host

Rename your virtual machine

In your Windows 7/8 VM, go to Control Panel > System > Advanced system settings > Computer Name and click Change. Name this whatever you like, e.g. windows. Restart your VM.

Add an ACL rule

Open CMD or Powershell as administrator. Add a URL ACL entry for your new name on the port of your choice, e.g.
netsh http add urlacl url=http://windows:8080/ user=everyone

Add a firewall rule

Introduction

This script lets you set up and use a temporary DigitalOcean droplet to download torrent files.
Once downloaded, they can be streamed down to your local machine.
This uses transmission-cli for the torrent client, and nginx to serve files.

Setup on Local Machine

This assumes that you have a DigitalOcean account and tugboat set up, as well as seedbox-setup.sh present in the current directory.

Installing pdnsd from homebrew as root user.

$ brew install pdnsd

$ sudo chown -R nobody /usr/local/var/cache/pdnsd

$ curl -L http://goo.gl/kMlyQ -o pdnsd.conf
$ mv pdnsd.conf /usr/local/etc
$ sudo chown root /usr/local/etc/pdnsd.conf
