Node.js core does its best to treat every platform equally. Even if most Node developers use OS X day to day, some use Windows, and most everyone deploys to Linux or Solaris. So it's important to keep your code portable between platforms, whether you're writing a library or an application.
Predictably, most cross-platform issues come from Windows. Things just work differently there! But if you're careful, and follow some simple best practices, your code can run just as well on Windows systems.
On Windows, paths are constructed with backslashes instead of forward slashes. So if you do your directory manipulation
Mirrors: standalone servers with complete copy of npm registry
Proxies: proxy to the database (couchdb) of npm registry, if only the npm registry server fails but the db works

If you watch a lot of videos, you may find these useful.
Use this one for youtube: https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/811-resize-yt-to-window-size
If you want to control the youtube and twitch players with keyboard shortcuts, I also have these https://github.com/fent/dotfiles/tree/master/Scripts
To move videos to another "player" window as they are opened, and pause any playing videos, https://github.com/fent/chrome-vsnap
All of the below properties or methods, when requested/called in JavaScript, will trigger the browser to synchronously calculate the style and layout*. This is also called reflow or layout thrashing, and is common performance bottleneck.
Generally, all APIs that synchronously provide layout metrics will trigger forced reflow / layout. Read on for additional cases and details.
