Definition

Mirrors: standalone servers with complete copy of npm registry

Proxies: proxy to the database (couchdb) of npm registry, if only the npm registry server fails but the db works

Can you share a few details on what it takes to setup npm mirror?
couchdb, as it seems, and what else? How much space, bandwidth and other resources do you have to dedicate to this?
