For me it is working with client.set_token(token,"oauth"), if that's your question. At https://github.com/MTG/freesound-python/blob/1861ad0f557d8d567525e5c91ae9c2727f2c7959/freesound.py#L180 the library checks for the string 'oauth' and if not found, sets as API key.

Thank you for posting all of this! Super new person using the freesound api for a school project. The OAuth2 stuff is a bit confusing so this helps a ton.
