Flo's to-do list of Lisbon
Disclaimer: I'm a brand ambassador of Bolt.
Restaurants:
- acucar & canela (cheap portuguese) https://maps.app.goo.gl/1NoGifCSLsJAjPjh9
- sushi all you can eat lunch (cheap) https://maps.app.goo.gl/oUkTWhqQRaJdZVzy7
- avoid: kebaps
- you can go to almost any restaurant in bairro alto. they are nice and usually not crazy expensive. and from there go directly to some of the bars below 😁
Bars:
- Sentido Proibido 2 (cheapest large cocktails) https://maps.app.goo.gl/PMUDHZikEgdXLi2c8
- erasmus corner (cheapest beer + shot) https://maps.app.goo.gl/wTp4XNiSo8p252Yz8
- arroz doce (nice bar) https://maps.app.goo.gl/zvUFMe73qj2vfKiH7
Beaches:
- Carcavelhos (easy to reach by train)
- Costa da Caparica (most beautiful and huge)
- Praia da Ursa (wonderful natural beach, but a bit far. there is a bus though. and then you climb a steep path down. worth it imo)
Best viewpoints:
- Miradouro senhora do monte (best sunset in the city)
- Miradouro da Graca (also nice and close to senhora)
- Jardim do Rio (very nice sunset, take the ferry from cais do sodre)
- caparica beach, perfect sunset as well
- Miradouro Santa Luzia (best insta pics)
- Jesus Statue (very nice view, even from his feet)
Things to try:
- Take the tram from Martim Moniz through the old town of Alfama
- Coffee (amazing and cheap, especially espresso)
- Pastel de nata (typical sweet pastry)
- Breakfast at Padaria Portuguesa (cheap and nice for a small breakfast imo)
- baccalão in whatever form (not my fav but many ppl like it and it's typical)
- portwine
- Take the scooter (Bolt are the cheapest and fastest haha)
- Consider taking Bolts, they are insanely cheap
Nice places:
- Parque Eduardo (very nice park with a view)
- Any of the botanical gardens are nice and they are free on one day of the week (idk which one though haha)
- Alfama (old town, very beautiful)
- Anjos (nice gentrified district with several cool bars)
- Belem (cool touristic place with several attractions e.g. tower of belem)
General considerations:
- water is drinkable but tastes disgusting
- public transport is nice. Use the city mapper app (gmaps is bad)
- don't buy drugs in the streets, they are fake
- clubs are expensive and imo not worth it
- have fun, sleep is for the weak 🤟
