In search of a hobby

The need for a hobby is becoming more apparent to me. My blood brother picked up a new hobby: sewing. Yes, sewing. Not a manly hobby but still it gets the stress out. My neighbour picked up taking care of fish. So, for me I want to describe my perfect hobby right here:

  1. It has to be creative. At the end of the activity, I've built something.

  2. It has to be something physical. Doing the hobby must make my body move and make me get off my butt.

  3. Can be indoor or outdoors -- doesn't matter. But it's getting colder -- would prefer to be indoors.

  4. As much as possible, I don't want to be working with too much technology.

  5. I need money to do the hobby.

Is going to the gym a hobby? I think not, that's separate from keeping yourself fit and healthy.

I saw an ad from the school near the city library. They offer a short course in floristry in one day. I am interested. Until then, I will concentrate on my backyard. It's full of weeds and I hate it to the bone. I will put energy into it this coming weekend. Buy my materials and make it good. I know how to get rid of weeds. All I have to do is act on it. Remove the fucking weeds already.

Here's the plan:

  1. Buy mulch.
  2. Buy a tool to get the weeds out.
  3. Use old newspapers to cover the ground and suffocate the weeds and the seeds.
  4. Put mulch on top of the newspaper to ensure the newspaper will not be disturbed.

I am excited.
