🍏

  • This is not my typical workday. First, I drove instead of taking the train -- because there are no trains to take in the first place, only buses. It's becoming pretty common these days because the Metro is doing a lot of maintenance works across all train lines. I arrived late in the office but that's ok.

  • I attended two meetings today as well which cut my working time by 20%. Both of them were productive.

  • Lunch time there was a lot of food because the office organised a potluck. I brought dumplings. Happy to say it was a hit there's only one left after the event. This one I noticed when I was in Planet Innovation -- Australians love their dumplings. It's familiar, it's convenient to eat, it's got meat, and carbs in one small package -- very filling as well.

  • Bought granny smiths for my apple pie, it's been a while since I baked one.

Highlight of the day

While in my first meeting for the day, there was an odd graphic presented to us on screen. It was a bunch of dots, it looked like Braille to me. Around 40% of it were already shaded with colour and the other remains unshaded. Our UX designer said each row of these dots represents a decade. The whole page represented 90 years of existence. He's like doing a progress bar of his life. Very interesting. I am following in twitter @year_progress which is kind of the same. It's a progress bar for the current year. It is very alarming if you see it every now and then.

Tempus fugit.

The second meeting was with my manager. It's bonus time. I got a bonus, my first ever while working here in Australia. I also got an increase. I am very thankful for all the blessings that come my way. I'll keep working smart so we get closer to our goals much quicker. The main thing is we're moving forward to get that first home for our family.
