- Investment is marriage.
- Only raise cash if you have validated traction and require it to scale. Otherwise, what's the point?
- There's tons of cash out there, find investor partners whom can add the most value and you can add value to their fund.
- Know your VCs, target a specific partner, staging/sizing and category conflicts.
- "If you want advice, ask for cash; if you want cash, ask for advice." Or maybe, just ask for what you know you need.
- Be fucking prepared, not the fingernail-clipping guy.
- Take sour-/tasty grapes on thefunded with several big grains of salt.
- Figure on 35-70 pitches in order to get someone to lead the Series A. The first raise of the first venture is the hardest.
- Follow pg's advice.
- Use HDP (Handshake Deal Protocol)
