Android Emulator Scanner/Camera Setup

Prerequisite:

  • Android Studio
  • You have a highish res barcode or QR code image (download one from Google images)

Steps:

  1. Following the steps here
  2. Start the emulator
  3. Click on "More" in the emulator panel to open the "Extended controls" window
  4. Click on "Camera"
  5. Click "ADD IMAGE" in "Wall" section
  6. Select your barcode image
  7. Start Customer App
  8. Navigate to the scanner
  9. Follow in the instructions for moving around to navigate to the smaller room and to the wall with the barcode
  10. Rotate mouse to point at the barcode
  11. The app should read the barcode just like in a real device

How about setting the front camera to emulated and using a virtual camera like obs? Does not work when I try that
