DTR_memo_Night_Writer
Project: NightWriter
Group Member Names: Anna Montoya, Luis Garcia
Project Expectations/Goals: What does each group member hope to get out of this project?
Completion, more comfortability loading text files, learn new strategies for breaking the problem into smaller pieces, gain familiarity using branches and merging to GitHub.
Team strengths: Both have flexible schedules, Anna feels confident in writing tests and making sure the project meets spec expectations, Luis feels comfortable writing single responsibility methods.
How to overcome obstacles:
Schedule Expectations (When are we available to work together and individually?): Both of us have very open schedules.
Communication Expectations (How and often will we communicate? How do we keep lines of communication open?): We plan to spend most of the time together while tackling the project. For times that we are apart, we both have Slack apps on our phones and have open availability.
Abilities Expectations (Technical strengths and areas for desired improvement): Luis wants to work on testing. Both of us want to improve our logic/algorithmic abilies.
Workload Expectations (What features do we each want to work on?): We plan to share responsibility on all features required for this project.
Workflow Expectations (Git workflow/Tools/Code Review/Reviewing Pull Requests): We plan on commiting every 30 mins or so, and write specific comments when making pull requests.
Expectations for giving and receiving feedback: We're both really comfortable communicating with one another and addressing any potential issues right away, as well as reflecting on what's going well.
Agenda to discuss project launch: We're going to process and brainstorm ideas individually today, and spend most of Saturday, and the earlier part of the day on Sunday pairing. We will mostly work together after school each day and set a game plan for the following day before wrapping up.
Ideas: Refer to Morse Translator exercise to help guide this more complex project. Rely on TDD.
Tools: We both feel that mentors are a valuable resource, as well as Google, Ruby-Docs, etc..
