So this is a thread. It works but is limited to 24h without "Discord server boost" (whatever that means) which is a premium feature.
I received an email from Christian and will have a video meeting with him on the 2nd of December to sort things out.
For those who could not make it to the video meeting yesterday, here is a short summary of what came out of it (at least what I remember from it):
- People in this community are nice 😌 (this is just me being happy with the vibe of the meeting, it was not a real topic).
- Overmind should be maintained for a long time: people really like this tool and it is a critical part of their projects.
- People are using the debugger and it is an important part of the ecosystem for them.
- API can be mostly frozen as it does the job.
- It would be nice to work on documentation as a community (I think this would also help us make this project our own).
- It would be nice to use threads on Discord to avoid confusion.
- If things go as planned, I would be in charge of reviewing pull requests (with the help of Henri and hopefully other contributors). But I am committing (!) to this for a year.
My personal thoughts after this meeting:
- I like the fact that we are re-creating a community to maintain an existing good solution created by someone we (at least I) deeply respect. This is different from having a community who wants to take over the world with the latest-best-better-new solution.
- I want a smart-little-girl logo for Overmind ! Cerebral had the "angry brain" logo and I think (I have a strong bias) that a girly logo would be a nice little contribution to encouraging girls in tech and it would give a nice new tone and direction to Overmind.
- It would be nice to re-create a "made with Overmind" page in the docs.
Cheers !
