Feedback Conversation

Date of feedback conversation:

05/21/17

How did you prepare for the conversation?

I'm very open to conversation of this manor so I didn't need to prepare much. I understood how to express my
feelings about the project in a constructive manor.

How did the conversation go for you? What was easy about the conversation? What was more difficult?

I found it very easy for both peope involved to be open and honest about both the positives of the project
and some things that we struggled on. It was a good conversaton of mutula respect.

What principles of feedback did you use in the conversation?

Listen, process thoughts, provide actionable feedback, be empathetic of others as you never know where they might
be coming from initially.

What is your biggest challenge when giving feedback to someone else? How do you want to overcome that challenge?

The biggest challenge is having these conversations with people who might not see the value of this type of commucation.
Building a base relationship of trust and understanding can certainly help break the ice here and make it easier to have
a deeper meaningful conversation.

How would you describe your ability to communicate feedback? How has this experience affected your communication skills?

I have made extensive gains when it comes to giving feedback, it's something that I was definately uncomfortable going when
I first stated at Turing. I still struggle with providing feedback if a person is unresponsive to well thought out, thoughtful
empathetic feedback.
