Scottish Regions
Speyside: Low peat, high with nutty/fruit flavors. (Apple, pear, honey, vanilla, and spice)
Speyside Distilleries: The Glenlivet, The Macallan, The Balvenie, Aberlour, Tomintoul, Glen Moray.
Highlands: Fruitcake and oaky smoke flavors
Highlands Distilleries: Glenmorangie, Dalmore, Tullibardine, Glengoyne
Lowlands: Soft and smooth (grass, honeysuckle, cream, ginger, toffee, toast and cinnamon)
Lowlands Distilleries: Glenkinchie, Linlithgow, Girvan, and Strathclyde
Islay: Pungent with peat, smoke and salinity
Islay Distilleries: Laphroaig, Lagavulin, Kilchoman, Caol Ila, Bunnahabhain, Bruichladdich, Bowmore and Ardbeg
Islands: Citrus flavors or peaty smoke depending on distillery. (Brine, oil, black pepper, heather and honey)
Islands Distilleries: Talisker’s, Tobermory, Jura
Campbeltown: Wet wool, salt, smoke, fruit, vanilla and toffee
Campbeltown Distilleries: Springbank, Glengyle, Kilkerran, Glen Scotia
