Hi {redacted},
Yes I have thoughts.
I think it is incredibly rude to send a follow-up email to a person doing you a favor 21 hours and 20 minutes after your first e-mail.
I think it is a waste of your development manager’s attention to cc him on an email for which he has no autonomy to take action nor responsibility to ensure an action is taken.
I think I would prefer to not talk with your team further about product design or delivery.
I know I do not want to present at {redacted} regardless of time or topic.
I think I am being supremely tactful by conveying my thoughts directly to you instead of in the reply-all thread.
A manager optimizes velocity and attrition by proving to her/his team members that their time, attention and contributions are equally valid regardless of their position in the organizational chart.
I spent a lot of time wording this email, so that you’d think of me as constructive instead of as a jerk. I am risking the appearance of being a jerk, but you also need to know that nobody owes you anything ever.
I want {redacted} to succeed because a rising tide lifts all ships, but I have zero interest in directly working with you. I don’t think poorly of you as a person, but your interpersonal skills are orthogonal to mine.
Best of luck,
{redacted}
