Apache 2.2.x / 2.4.x FPM Configuration
This configuration is a working copy which I have tested on Apache 2.2.x and 2.4.x
I highly recommend you use this version of mod_fastcgi as it works with Apache 2.4.x, fastcgi.com version does not!
https://github.com/ByteInternet/libapache-mod-fastcgi
The fastcgi.com version is 2.4.6, the version I am recommending registers as 2.4.7
To patch mod_fastcgi for use with Apache 2.4.x look at the debian/patches folder. It's not specific to Debian OS so don't let that fool you. I personally use Archlinux.
Of course to compile mod_fastcgi:
<?php
add_filter( 'wp_nav_menu_objects', 'tgm_filter_menu_class' );
/**
* Filters the first and last nav menu objects in your menus
* to add custom classes.
*
* @since 1.0.0
*
* @param object $objects An array of nav menu objects.
* @return object $objects Amended array of nav menu objects with new class.

Clean out your Sass junk-drawer

by Dale Sande

CSS has had a long and sordid past. A developer never sets out with the goal of making a complete and total mess of things. Their intention is not to build something that is practically illegible, impractical to maintain and is limited in scale. But somehow, this is where many inevitably end up. Luckily, all is not lost. With some simple strategies, organizational methods and out-of-the box tools, we can really help get that junk-drawer inline.

For many of us getting started with Sass, at one time or another have created a junk-drawer of files. For most, this was a rookie mistake, but for others, this is a continuing issue with our architecture and file management techniques. Sass doesn't come with any real rules for file management so developers are pretty much left to their own devices.

Large CSS files and increased complexity

CSS started out with very simple intentions, but as [tableless web design][1.1] began to really take a foothold, o

Slightly smarter filtering to remove hard-coded width and height attributes from *all* images in WordPress (post thumbnails, images inserted into posts, and gravatars). Handy for responsive designs. Add the code below to the functions.php file in your theme's folder (/wp-content/themes/theme-name/ ). Remember to rename the function as needed to …
/**
* Filter out hard-coded width, height attributes on all images in WordPress.
* https://gist.github.com/4557917
*
* This version applies the function as a filter to the_content rather than send_to_editor.
* Changes made by filtering send_to_editor will be lost if you update the image or associated post
* and you will slowly lose your grip on sanity if you don't know to keep an eye out for it.
* the_content applies to the content of a post after it is retrieved from the database and is "theme-safe".
* (i.e., Your changes will not be stored permanently or impact the HTML output in other themes.)

Outlining a system for writing Sass.

Sass 'Alphabetization'

I wanted to outline a potential system for organizing Sass declarations. Since Alphabetization has also been a hot topic (of which I am in favor), it outlines how things such as nesting, @extend, @include, and comments would all fall into the same system. This is by no means a perfect system - but after using Sass for a variety of different things, this is the organization I've found that can deal most easily with edge cases.

Please feel free to critique / edit / etc.

Order of Items
