I am a professionally trained classical musician turned developer. My training gives me several strengths including time management, organized, and the ability to be both independent and a team player. I found putting financial pressure on music no longer made it something I could be passionate about, which is what prompted searching for another career.
I came to Turing after spending 5 years in IT support, and 2 years in data management. This gave me an opportunity to dabble in many areas of IT from operations to networking to developemnt. I found that working along side developers was exciting and interesting. There is always a new problem to solve or concept to learn, which keeps things interesting and engaging. I also like the potential to help someone do what they need to do in a more efficient manner. My past experience gave me the knowledge to figure out what I want to do and what that environment might look like.
In my career as a developer, I would ideally like to work for a company that is creating applications that help people, either internal or external from the company. I've previously worked for a medical service company, and enjoyed the challenges that environment can bring up. I also like that I am helping enable care givers to better provide for those in need.
