Aztec Discord Role Tutorial

Overview

Join the Aztec Discord community and earn roles by participating in their network operations.

Apprentice Role

Prerequisites

  • Admin will provide you with a block number and proof in the admin notes

Steps to Get Apprentice Role

  1. Copy the provided information from admin notes (block number and proof)
  2. Navigate to Discord
    • Go to the "operators | start here" channel in Aztec Discord
  3. Submit your application
    • Type: /operator start
    • Enter the following information:
      • Your wallet address
      • Block number (from admin notes)
      • Proof (from admin notes)
  4. Role granted instantly upon successful submission

Guardian Role

Prerequisites

  • Admin will provide your IP address and Peer ID in the admin notes

Steps to Get Guardian Role

  1. Wait for official announcements
    • Role upgrades typically require waiting for Aztec team to announce when snapshots are taken
  2. Verify your Peer ID
    • Check if your Peer ID (provided by admin in notes) appears on aztec.nethermind.io
    • Only proceed if your peer ID is visible on the website
  3. Access the checkpoint
    • Go to the # Upgrade-Role channel
    • Run the checkip command
  4. Submit required information
    • IP: Your node's IP address (numbers and periods only)
    • node_eth_address: Your node's public Ethereum address

General Tips

  • Keep admin notes handy as they contain essential information for both roles
  • Monitor Aztec Discord announcements for snapshot and upgrade timing
  • Monitor updates from Admin notes, please check dashboard regularly
  • Ensure all technical requirements are met before submitting applications
