Macally Bluetooth CAPS LOCK stuck on

The problem

Macally brand Bluetooth keyboard, connected to an Android phone, has caps lock permanently on. Hitting the CAPS key does nothing as it is treated as a CONTROL key. Using SHIFT inverts the letter case.

Turning keyboard off and on does not fix the problem.

Undocumented solution

Press Command and Option keys simultaneously and release. (Also labeled Windows and Alt).
