What are some use cases of cloud computing?

  1. Backup as a Service (BaaS)
  2. Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS)
  3. Email
  4. Virtual Desktops (VDI) / Desktop as a Service (DaaS)
  5. Test and Development
  6. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
  7. Private/Public/Hybrid Cloud
  8. Software-Defined Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN)
  9. Big Data Analytics
  10. Software as a Service (SaaS)

Mention some advantages of cloud computing.

High Speed

This might be self-explanatory.

Data Security

To prevent attacks, keeps data somewhere away from our server.

Disaster Recovery

This makes it much more different than trying to retrieve a database from a physical server and from a cloud.

Mobility

We don’t have a biiiig server room that we have to keep cool and safe.

What are the most popular cloud providers?

MongoDB Atlas
Google Cloud
Amazon AWS
Microsoft Azure
IBM Cloud

What are cloud functions? Mention at least 2 use cases.

Cloud Functions is a serverless execution environment for building and connecting cloud services. With Cloud Functions, you write simple, single-purpose functions that are attached to events emitted from your cloud infrastructure and services. Your function is triggered when an event being watched is fired. Your code executes in a fully managed environment. There is no need to provision any infrastructure or worry about managing any servers.
Notify users when something interesting happens. Other interesting notification use cases.
Perform database sanitization and maintenance. Other database sanitization and maintenance use cases.
Execute intensive tasks in the cloud instead of in your app. ...
Integrate with third-party services and APIs.

What are CI and CD? and how are they helpful

CI and CD stand for continuous integration and continuous delivery/continuous deployment. In very simple terms, CI is a modern software development practice in which incremental code changes are made frequently and reliably.

Automated testing enables continuous delivery, which ensures software quality and security and increases the profitability of code in production.
-CI/CD pipelines enable a much shorter time to market for new product features, creating happier customers and lowering strain on development.
-The great increase in overall speed of delivery enabled by CI/CD pipelines improves an organization’s competitive edge.

What is serverless architecture?

A serverless architecture is a way to build and run applications and services without having to manage infrastructure. Your application still runs on servers, but all the server management is done by cloud computing provider.

What is Kubernetes?

Kubernetes is a portable, extensible, open source platform for managing containerized workloads and services, that facilitates both declarative configuration and automation. It has a large, rapidly growing ecosystem.
Applications can be bundled and run effectively using containers. We should manage the containers that run the applications in a production environment to prevent downtime. For instance, another container needs to start if one goes down. In this way, Kubernetes saves the day! We have a framework to execute distributed systems robustly thanks to Kubernetes. It provides deployment patterns, handles scaling and failover for our application,

5. What are CI and CD? and how are they helpful
Continuous integration (CI) is practice that involves developers making small changes and checks to their code. Due to the scale of requirements and the number of steps involved, this process is automated to ensure that teams can build, test, and package their applications in a reliable and repeatable way. CI helps streamline code changes, thereby increasing time for developers to make changes and contribute to improved software.

Continuous delivery (CD) is the automated delivery of completed code to environments like testing and development. CD provides an automated and consistent way for code to be delivered to these environments.

6. What is serverless architecture?
Serverless architecture is an approach to software design that allows developers to build and run services without having to manage the underlying infrastructure. Developers can write and deploy code, while a cloud provider provisions servers to run their applications, databases, and storage systems at any scale.
