time is an illusion (lunchtime doubly so)

Have you ever read a "Good morning" in an international IRC-Channel shortly before you leave the office for lunch? In international business time is an illusion. In this talk we'll dive into he depths of Timezones and how to handle them. We'll talk about the history of timezones to see why they are so important. And of course we'll examine how to handle those little buggers efficiently in code and database.

Firstly I like the sound of this talk. I think most people have dealt with timezone bugs before so this should be something that people would want to hear about.

A few small suggestions:

  • For "dramatic" effect I would use the phrase "In international business time is an illusion." and drop the ending there.
  • I would also update "We'll see why timezones are important and why and how they started to exist." to be something like "We'll dive into the history of timezones to see why they became so important."

Nice talk idea and very relevant to what we're working on in the office today. :) πŸ‘

Agree w/ @dmanners on the first point.
