Nginx + Node.js server configuration. Blog post: http://www.miguelmota.com/blog/nodejs-and-ngnix-on-ubuntu/
# The upstream module is the link between Node.js and Nginx.
# Upstream is used for proxying requests to other servers.
# All requests for / get distributed between any of the servers listed.
upstream helloworld {
# Set up multiple Node.js webservers for load balancing.
# max_fails refers to number of failed attempts
# before server is considered inactive.
# weight priorities traffic to server. Ex. weight=2 will recieve
# twice as much traffic as server with weight=1
server <your server ip>:3000 max_fails=0 fail_timeout=10s weight=1;

Example Nginx configuration for serving pre-rendered HTML from Javascript pages/apps using the Prerender Service (https://github.com/collectiveip/prerender).Instead of using try_files (which can cause unnecessary overhead on busy servers), you could check $uri for specific file extensions and set $prerender appropriately.
# Note (November 2016):
# This config is rather outdated and left here for historical reasons, please refer to prerender.io for the latest setup information
# Serving static html to Googlebot is now considered bad practice as you should be using the escaped fragment crawling protocol

listen 80;
listen [::]:80;
server_name yourserver.com;
root /path/to/your/htdocs;

NGINX tuning for best performance

NGINX Tuning For Best Performance

For this configuration you can use web server you like, i decided, because i work mostly with it to use nginx.

Generally, properly configured nginx can handle up to 400K to 500K requests per second (clustered), most what i saw is 50K to 80K (non-clustered) requests per second and 30% CPU load, course, this was 2 x Intel Xeon with HyperThreading enabled, but it can work without problem on slower machines.

You must understand that this config is used in testing environment and not in production so you will need to find a way to implement most of those features best possible for your servers.

Installing Cassandra on Mac OS X

Install Homebrew

Homebrew is a great little package manager for OS X. If you haven't already, installing it is pretty easy:

ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.github.com/Homebrew/homebrew/go/install)"
