When we want address a new field of work together as a team we go through the phases below. We track progress on our Opportunity Backlog.
Our PO (plus however is neded) takes an opportunity and gathers understanding of what the customers want and how we’re helping them. With this knowledge we build a story map with all the things you would need for a MVP/Skateboard/Walking Skeleton.
A story squad (PO + some devs) take on the MVP/Skateboard/Walking Skeleton. Deep dive into the topic, trying to make sense of it from a technical perspective. The group then verifies their assumptions by running mocks/prototypes/documentation by the customers. Until we are sure that we have a plan for the MVP (and maybe beyond).
The whole team creates and delivers the MVP to the customer.
The story squad evaluates if and how we need to go further with this together with the customer.
Only if we are sure the customers are happy with what we delivered for now, we are done.
