My Apple devices started stating "incorrect password" for my network, even though they had conncted previously.
So how to fix Unifi network "incorrect password" error on iPhone, iPod, iPad and Macbook pro?
The reason for the error is the WiFi management done on iOS devices.
The default settings for the Unifi AP range are not compatible with iOS 11 and 12 and OSX High Sierra (and maybe more).
The reason for the error is the "DTIM Mode" (beacon timing) setting for power saving.
The default value for the Unifi AP devices is 1, but it is recommended by Apple that this be set to 3 or higher.
The fix is easily done from the Unifi Controller.
1. Open the controller interface.
2. navigate to settings -> wireless networks.
3. Select the SSID that is affected, click edit.
4. expand "advanced options".
5. expand "802.11 Rate and Beacon Controls".
6. Uncheck "DTIM Mode Use default values"
7. Set the DTIM Timing value to 3 for both 2G and 5G Data Rate Control.
8. Click Save.
Your Apple devices should now connect. Note, if the time on the apple device has drifted because it has not been able to sync with the internet, then it may disconnect immediatly it syncs its date/time. Reconnect manually.
That is it. This configuration works better with the power saving features of iPhone and iPad devices on a WiFi network powered by Ubiquiti Unifi wireless Access Points.

I would like to make mention that this happened to me recently, it was because the UnFi gui was set for the newer version, as soon as I switched back to classic view, those devices that were getting incorrect password, we able to connect.

@arch1mede This was working for me up until recently. I upgraded my UniFi Controller because of Ubiquity's tech support (no comment - every answer is just 'please upgrade first') and now I'm getting 'Incorrect password' again :( Setting 3 and 3 does not seem to help anymore. I'm on 'classic view' currently.

If you upgraded to AP software >5.43.35.12698, then I would look in the archives and downgrade to this version. This is why I don't update my AP's any more.

I had just one Macbook Pro affected by this problem on just one of 2 AP's. This seemed to fix my issue.

Thanks.
