Remote Project Manager for Agency [Part Time, Contract]

Hi!

Our agency is growing and we need a freelance entry-level project manager.

We need someone who is eager and efficient to help us grapple with administrative and project management tasks. Ideally this will grow into a full time role as our business grows.

This is currently a contract position and provides no benefits. As such, you must also provide your own equipment, and set your own hours. Pay is hourly, and negotiable.

Responsibilities:

  • Client Communication (by email, phone, and video or conference call)
  • Workflow management and project administration: Creating tasks out of client requests Communicating status to clients

We expect you to learn the ins and outs of our business and existing tools and grow your responsibilities to also include:

  • Proposal writing
  • Developer/Customer support

Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Familiarity with email, word processors, and basic familiarity with spreadsheets
  • Ability to learn new web based applications. As far as examples of what we're currently using:
    • We file developer tasks in Github
    • We keep track of projects in Trello
    • We chat on Slack
    • We invoice on FreshBooks
    • We write docs in google docs (usually)
    • We edit client content in a few home-grown systems

If this role continues to develop, we would be hoping for someone to help define their duties and take a lead in many operational matters. We're decent at running this business, but we want you to come in and make it better.

About us:

We are a two person agency, brothers, Issac (Oakland CA) and Kasey Kelly (Zanesville OH). We've been working together since 2008. We're making three contract hires right now (you, a designer, and an engineer), and intend to grow our business further in the coming year. We've worked with a couple names anybody would recognize, but mostly we do boutique work for small independent businesses across the country. Our bread and butter is marketing websites and software engineering contracts. We're expanding into some event marketing in 2017.
