💫 phd wrangling
published: true

So... I'm writing again and I'm coding again. (And the occassional Rstats rescue mission.) I'm still wrangling my data + my PhD + ADHD + EDS + fam + chronic nerd life (during lockdown). I'm discovering cool, fast, fun ways to do better writing, reading, thinking, coding, collabs!

I wanted 4 things all at once:

  1. WRITING: To do nanowrimo in powermode with friends this year, with little to no setup... pure fun and flow!
  2. READING: Non-linear notes: high-velocity research discovery, summary, synthesis, linking, retrieval, and insight sharing
  3. RESEARCH: ADHD-proof PhD workflows and toolsets (Rmarkdown in powermode, without a learning curve)
  4. SHARING: To be able to easily share cool stuff with my writing and research friends who don't code (and to swap seamlessly between tools without worrying about versions or formatting nonsense)

Pretty sure I've figured out (and super-streamlined) all 4!

So, VSCode + GistPad + Power Mode really seems like the simplest starting point for a happy ADHD-proof writing life.
