### Install java 7 | |
sudo apt-get update | |
sudo apt-get install openjdk-7-jre-headless -y | |
### Check http://www.elasticsearch.org/download/ for latest version of ElasticSearch and replace wget link below | |
wget https://download.elasticsearch.org/elasticsearch/elasticsearch/elasticsearch-1.0.1.deb | |
sudo dpkg -i elasticsearch-1.0.1.deb | |
### NOT starting elasticsearch by default on bootup, please execute | |
sudo update-rc.d elasticsearch defaults 95 10 | |
### In order to start elasticsearch, execute | |
sudo /etc/init.d/elasticsearch start | |
### connect to Elasticsearch | |
curl http://localhost:9200 |
