Our system has been corrupt for a very long time. Most in the political class know it because they’ve benefitted from it. Step in @realDonaldTrump and try to make the system (and America) GREAT AGAIN, and lo and behold, the establishment kicks into overdrive and works to destroy everything and everyone in their way (including a POTUS). Not sure the nation can survive if we don’t use this moment in history to make the necessary corrections to overcome a past that allowed corrupt behavior to seep in so deeply and became so ingrained, making it much harder to reform. We’ll see what these next few months bring. Wake up people! @elonmusk @DOGE

Corrupt behavior has become deeply ingrained in the US system, making it much harder to reform. rejected https://www.nytimes.com/1984/06/22/us/new-chief-shaking-up-prison-system.html In the month since Ray Procunier was appointed director of the Texas Department of Corrections he has sent shock waves through a system mired in charges of brutality, corruption and mismanagement. He has made these changes, among others: - He dismissed one warden for unjustly punishing an inmate who had been cooperating with Federal investigators looking into charges of brutality by prison guards. - He has reassigned two other wardens and demoted to warden one of the assistant directors of the 24-prison system. He has replaced them with other officials whose style is more in keeping with his management approach and plans to replace several more wardens, according to aides. - He replaced the system's spokesman, Rick Hartley, said by Texas reporters to have often misled them and under whose tenure the system's public image deteriorated. He has since opened the system wide to press scruting, inviting reporters and photographers on prison tours.

🤖 Conclusion [40/100]: The statement contains some elements that are partially supported but also features overstatements and unsupported claims. Evidence and mainstream reporting do acknowledge that elements of corruption have been present in aspects of American governance and politics over a significant period, lending some truth to "our system has been corrupt for a very long time." However, the more sweeping assertions—such as most of the political class knowingly benefitting from this, Donald Trump's efforts at reform provoking a united 'establishment' backlash including efforts to 'destroy' him, and the notion that corruption is now so deeply ingrained that reform is near-impossible—are not fully substantiated by the sources provided, and in some cases lack any direct corroborative evidence. As such, while the statement is rooted in a real critique that resonates with some public sentiment and has a kernel of validity, it overgeneralizes and does not fully match the evidence, resulting in a moderate but not high truthfulness rating.
