- to ask people to do or support (something) in a way that shows that you believe it is very important
- to try to persuade (someone) in a serious way to do something
- to use force or pressure to move (someone or something) in a particular direction or at a particular speed
-
To cause (a person or animal) to go with one by holding them by the hand, a halter, a rope, etc., while moving forward: she emerged leading a bay horse.
-
To be a reason or motive for (someone)
To create an experience that brings people from no coding experience to have the ability, motivation, and confidence to create coding projects with others and continue learning new coding concepts without the explicit urging or leading of a teacher.
We know when we met this objective when:
- People are practicing a growth mindset (i.e. they are reslient to failing, they are eager to learn new and hard things (as opposed to scared))
- People are creating their own coding projects (either by themselves or in a group) without the urging or leading of a teacher
- People are dictating what they want to learn and achieve and teachers are not urging or leading.
- People are learning new coding concepts without the urging or leading of a teacher
To then create a set of materials that are used to communicate to any other hackEDU team member how to reproduce such an experience.
When know when we met this objective when
After using the set of materials to communicate to other team members how to reproduce the experience, they are able to reproduce it. In other words, they are able to see the results indicated in Objective 1.

- Cohort 3: Work on Objective 1
- Cohort 4: Work on Objective 1 as well as Objective 2
