Setting up Heroku Hostname SSL with GoDaddy SSL Cert
How to setup Heroku Hostname SSL with GoDaddy SSL Certificate and Zerigo DNS
Heroku recently added an exciting new 'Hostname SSL' option. This option offers the broad compatibility of IP-based SSL, but at 1/5 the price ($20 / month at the time of this writing).
The following tutorial explains how to use Heroku's new 'Hostname SSL' option on your Heroku project. Before we begin, let's list what we're using here:
* Heroku Hostname SSL
* GoDaddy Standard SSL Certificate
* Zerigo DNS

Snapchat Image Decrypt - This Ruby script decrypts the blob received from the `bq/blob` endpoint. Many thanks to @kivikakk, @adamcaudill, @tlack, and @NeilHanlon for inspiration, code, guides, and of course, the encryption key.
#!/usr/bin/env ruby

data = File.open('blob', 'r:ASCII-8BIT').read
c = OpenSSL::Cipher.new('AES-128-ECB')
c.decrypt

o = ''.force_encoding('ASCII-8BIT')
data.bytes.each_slice(16) { |s| o += c.update(s.map(&:chr).join) }

In Yosemite, all Safari web searches are sent to not only the search engine you've selected (e.g., Google, DuckDuckGo), but *also* to Apple, even if you've disabled "Spotlight Suggestions" (System Preferences > Spotlight Suggestions, as per Apple's privacy documentation) and sharing of Usage and Diagnostics data. https://github.com/fix-macosx/yo…

JSX, a year in

Hi Nicholas,

I saw you tweet about JSX yesterday. It seemed like the discussion devolved pretty quickly but I wanted to share our experience over the last year. I understand your concerns. I've made similar remarks about JSX. When we started using it Planning Center, I led the charge to write React without it. I don't imagine I'd have much to say that you haven't considered but, if it's helpful, here's a pattern that changed my opinion:

The idea that "React is the V in MVC" is disingenuous. It's a good pitch but, for many of us, it feels like in invitation to repeat our history of coupled views. In practice, React is the V and the C. Dan Abramov describes the division as Smart and Dumb Components. At our office, we call them stateless and container components (view-controllers if we're Flux). The idea is pretty simple: components can't

function word(){
$("#input").val($("#currentword").html());
$('#input').trigger(jQuery.Event('keyup', {which: 13}));
setTimeout(function () {
word();
}, 1);
}
word();
