Men's bible study outline

Who to invite to pilot:

  • Justin

Everyman's Prep Before Session:

  • Read the passage in some detail (be familiar with the plot and main ideas, at least)
  • Preferably take notes with verse references to aid in discussion

Leader Prep Before Session:

  • Read and study the passage
  • Bulid preliminary sections and key verses

What Happens During the Session:

  • Pray
  • Talk through purpose (first meeting)
  • Go through weekly sessions
    • Define the passage, and explain why they chose that
    • Key Verses
    • Talk through section and define key points for the EoW Lesson
  • Define accountability groups
  • Pray

Output from Session

  • Understanding of passage

    • Major points
    • Overall plot
    • Key (power!!) verses
  • Weekly plan (online version, emailed)

    • Three bible huddles during the week (and suggested prayer)
    • End of week lesson
      • outline of topics and verses to cover
      • "asides" suggesting activites for children
      • Review of the previous weeks, via main points
  • Pair or triplet of guys to talk with throughout the month for accountability

Everyman's Inbetween Sessions Plan

  • Memorize one or some of the key verses
  • Read over the relavent passages before each huddle or lesson
  • Meet with your group three times per week for huddles, or 4 times per week for huddles + lessons
    • Pray during/after/before EVERYTHING
  • Talk with your pair or triple accountability groups at least once per month
    • How it's going with their group
    • Pray for eachother's groups
    • Highlights and struggles
