Connect Bluetooth

On the side of the keyboard, switch the toggle to Bluetooth. Press fn+1 ^{3 seconds} and pair with device named Keychron K2.

• fn+1 connect to 1st device

• fn+2 connect to 2nd device

• fn+3 connect to 3rd device

Linux

To properly connect the keyboard to Linux, make sure that your system has the following utilities:

• blueman (maybe)

• bluetoothctl

• hcitool

hcitool on ArchLinux is in the bluez-deprecated-tools package.

Connect Cable

On the side of the keyboard, switch the toggle to Cable.

Change Light effect

Light 💡 is the key in the upper right corner of the keyboard.

• fn+light turn on/off backlight

• light change light effect

• fn+right arrow/left arrow change backlight color

• f5 and f6 keyboard brightness

• fn+l+light ^{6 seconds} lock/unlock the light effect you are using now

• fn++ and fn+- change the animation speed

Tip	If you use f1, f2 etc. keys as the standard function keys, then f5 and f6 will still control the brightness of the keyboard. To avoid this behavior, you need to long-press fn+k+c 3 seconds (or fn+k+c ^3 seconds in Windows mode) after which the keyboard will blink three times.

Miscellaneous

Battery

White Backlight Version:

• fn+b, if the power is above 70%, the backlight of the whole keyboard will on; when it is 70%~30 %, backlight the first row will be off; when it is under 30%, the first 2 rows will turn off automatically

RGB Backlight Version:

• fn+b, if the power above 70%, the charging indicator is green; 30%~70 %, the charging indicator will be blue; when it is under 30%, the charging indicator will keep flashing

Del

• fn+Del will perform as the Insert key

• fn+i+d ^{3 seconds} reverse the function of Del and Insert. Vice versa.

Etc

• fn+s+o ^{3 seconds} disable the Auto Sleep Mode

• fn+z+j ^{5 seconds} factory reset

Have you found any way to configure backlight "layers" e.g. constant 25% illumination with a reactive effect over the top?

Unfortunately, I don't found it.

Thanks for this guide! It is much easier to parse than the one on Keychron's site. You may know this but the fn+k+c to change F5 and F6 only works when the keyboard is toggled to mac mode, on windows mode it is it is fn+x+l. It doesn't actually matter which OS you are running only where the switch is set on the keyboard.

Thanks so much for this guide. I'm having a problem with my Keychron C2 keyboard and my ChromeBook. On the C2, the dim/illuminate keys change the laptop's keyboard and not the external keyboard. I think this is a settings issue perhaps with the ChromeBook because it used to work when I had the keyboard connected to a MacBook.

how to sync lights to music currently playing

I can't change brightness using f5 and f6 keys

@aljustiet try using fn + w to increase brightness | fn + s to decrease brightness
