You. A stage. 7ish minutes. Slides you've never seen. An audience to impress. You're going in blind. Screw it, we'll do it live!
What: a light-hearted evening of presentations. You may have heard of this concept under the name Presentation Karaoke or Battledecks. It's lot's of fun, I promise :)
Why: practice public speaking and improvisation, have fun, general shenanigannery
Rules:
- the presenter must have never seen the slides before they go on
- slide decks can be of any length, but the presenter has a fixed amount of time. It's up to the presenter to make it work :)
- audience participation and general rowdiness is encouraged
- the slides in question must have been presented in some other setting before. This is a great chance to reuse your old conference decks, science fair presentations, etc. Bonus points if they're not about your current project or day job.
Bring an old presentation to have someone else present - the more esoteric, technical, colorful, creative, or otherwise unusual, the better.
To keep it fresh, we're limiting it to 10 presentations and 10 presenters over the 90 minute period.
