CLAUDE.md snippet to minimise permission prompts for simple search operations

Codebase Search and Navigation

Tool priority

  1. Claude native tools — fastest, always available, no dependencies
  2. IDE MCP tools — for semantic search and large codebase exploration
  3. Bash — never for search or read operations

Use native tools for

  • Reading a file when the path is known → Read
  • Listing directory contents → LS
