29-31 August 2014 at Kulturhuset Indre By, Copenhagen - frontendunited.org
Join designers, developers, and drupalistas for two days of focused workshops, talks and sessions on design, frontend engineering and Drupal.
Frontend United is a yearly European conference that moves from country to country, previously hosted in Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam and last year in London.
Our aim is to bring Frontend developers, designers and Drupal themers from all kinds of backgrounds closer together and share knowledge, experiences and ideas face-to-face. We strive to reach out to attendees and speakers outside the standard comfort zone.
Frontend United looks to help grow the local community as well as build bridges across Europe for further collaborations and cross-border exchange. We aim to be the TED of Frontend conferences – inspiring, thought and process provoking.
For this year's Frontend United in Copenhagen we have chosen to have one track spanning design, user experience, markup and CSS, client-side scripting and backend development: tools and frontend development. Talks cover a broad spectrum, from ways to make data visualisation towards CSS authoring frameworks. We have a focus on the context of people and process, not just the tools alone.
We are trying to recruit the best speakers in the field, not only exclusive to Drupal or Frontend development in order to ensure a thriving environment and fruitful experience.
Frontend United is a not for profit event, we try to get the best value for the attendees, regardless of our limited budget. This means that we can give you free access to the conference and a small gift. We might be able to provide resonable travel costs and are looking into suitable speakers accomdation - most likely a large AirBnB appartment for all of us to stay in. This is still unconfirmed but we will keep you informed.
With regard to subject we're quite open, we want to have a nice mixture of subjects to inspire, challenge and encourage dialog between communities, we also want to encourage bofs/unconference - to allow for attendees to bounce ideas they have been inspired about and or bringing new stuff to the table.
- Not for profit event:
- Expected Numbers: 150
- Number of Talks: 8-10
- Type of Talks: Presentation, Workshop, BoF, Open Discussions, whatever the best method to challenge and provoke thinking
- Slides are encouraged to be available from the conference website, before or after.
- Recording of sessions will depend on budget, but the Drupal community members tend to record sessions independently and post them publicly
- The ideology behind Frontend United is to bring ideas that spark open discussion and creative thinking
Please be aware that all organisers are unpaid volunteers, putting this together in their spare time
