Bruh Moment

I'm going to be leaving out last names for privacy reasons. On a side note, the beginning is kind of fuzzy for me, and may have involved wolves. I've had similar dreams in the past about the same house in Vermont with the same creepy swamp. I was also watching a Netflix show before I went to bed that involved Caesar's Palace.

It's dark out, and the sun set a few hours ago. Chris, Paul, Cadence, Betty-Leigh, Ed, my dad, and I are sitting in our house in Vermont. We are frightened by howling noises in the distance and decide to watch a movie to cheer us up. But first we have to get to the theater.

Betty-Leigh, Ed, and I decide to go get the car. So we walk through the swamp, avoiding the sinkholes, to find Chris and Paul's shack on our property. But a n g e r y killer bears are everywhere, and we have to watch our every step to avoid being eaten by them. We finally find the car and shack in the middle of the forest. We get in it and drive out of the forest and onto a very well-kept gravel road. After less than a mile of driving, we arrive at the movie theater and get out. Chris, Cadence, and my dad pop up behind us and tell us that Paul wanted to stay behind. We check out the movie posters outside to see what's playing.

Each poster is 20 feet tall, and written entirely in Japanese. The only movie playing is Detective Pikachu all day, with maximum seating of 10 people. Each poster depicts a stretched Pikachu holding a glowing blue sword, and different foreign text in silver block lettering. I recently watched Detective Pikachu on my computer at home in New York, but I say that I'd love to see it again, especially in a theater. We walk around the corner.

The theater is huge, the side of a palace. It has Japanese letting along the top, but I somehow know that it means "Caesar's Palace," which is not in this case a casino. I walk into the theater by myself and gaze in awe at the ginormous size. And suddenly I realize what this is. I had seen a Nick Robinson video on YouTube in my dream, about an elusive Pikachu sticker, and the video clearly describes a special screening of Detective Pikachu in some places in Japan. This was one of them. These screenings are highly edited with new music and shots never seen before.

So Betty-Leigh, Cadence, Cadence's brother Liam, Cadence's mom, my dad, my mom, Chris, and I all pack into the cramped theater. The lights are all out, and I can barely see my surroundings. Cadence and her family were the first to sit down, then my mom, then me, then everyone else. I stop paying attention when I sit down, because the special screening is beginning. It skips any ads or previews.

And I suddenly realize what the soundtrack is. 140-160BPM hardstyle, with no dialog. And I'm excited! And the intro to the first song starts, we see long panning shots of winding roads. It's raining outside. The buildup begins and flames begin to burn the forest which just came on screen. The male singer begins to sing oddly contextual lyrics about fire burning him up (or at least I find them odd), and the buildup and fire intensify. And then we hit the drop, and see the source of the flames. Pikachu is throwing fireballs from his tail, and he's ten feet tall.

And then my dad wakes me up.
