Do you have an interest in TV production and/or experience wrangling rack servers?
Would you like to have both of those things?
Scripto, a TV production software project that originated at the Colbert Report, is
looking for a part time ops intern in New York City. Scripto is Google Docs for
teleprompters, a web app that runs on servers we install at a TV studio and
accommodates an entire day's workflow -- from notes, to first drafts, to revisions
and shooting rundowns, and ultimately to camera.
This is a paid six-month internship starting in April and ending in September.
You will be tasked with installing and configuring linux rack servers at client
sites, and there is a lot of opportunity to learn and grow with us. Technologies
we use include node.js and docker, and you'll learn about virtual private networking,
remote configuration systems, continuous integration and deployment, and quite a bit
about the television industry too, while you're at it.
We don't expect you to be a grizzled IT veteran! You should have a basic familiarity
with linux or unix-like operating systems, you should have some experience in a
technical field or college program, and you should be curious, detail-oriented, good
at communicating, and ready to learn.
If interested, please contact Rusty Foster at [email protected]. Thanks! |
