  • Area Metrics is a Seattle-based company that helps app publishers and brands personalize their users’ and customers’ real-world experiences.
  • Transitioned the start-up from spreadsheet-based reporting to an interactive web-based reporting dashboard.
  • Site permits API requests via form or URL parameters so that custom views can be shared via hyperlink, such as the shortened link above.
  • Data queries automatically supply comparative data through multiple dynamic API requests. Period selector provides quick access to common view periods.
  • Dashboard includes (1) custom dropdown selectors to enable greater density of information; (2) dataset toggling on every chart; (3) and mobile-first design.
  • Utilized Javascript, SCSS, React, Redux, Chart.js, and Bootstrap.

####District Crimes Redux -- June 2016

  • District Crimes Redux utilizes public data to visualize and link crime rates to political districts. Responsive web design enables users to filter crime types, view district-specific data, and contact legislators.
  • Utilized Javascript, CSS3, React, Redux, ImmutableJS, Webpack, Leaflet (map-rendering), public data APIs, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.

####The Grind with Kevin -- May 2016

  • The Grind with Kevin podcast is coffee and conversation with interesting folks.
  • I've been inspired by many of the conversational podcasts out there, but they also tend to be the domain of various celebrity personalities. I am interested in hearing and sharing what everyday people have to say about the various topics that interest them. My goal is to share a cup of coffee with each of them, prevaricate on the issues of the day, and inject a bit of humor and personal growth where I can.
