Job Summary

Do you want to help define the future of app development?

Join the SwiftUI team and empower developers to build better apps with less code. You’ll collaborate with passionate and creative colleagues to meet ambitious goals in an environment that not only encourages, but requires constant curiosity and growth. The work we do together will shape the developer experience on Apple's platforms and beyond for decades to come!

Key Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Swift (or the capacity to become proficient quickly)
  • The ability to work collaboratively and explain complex ideas clearly
  • High standards for quality and attention to detail
  • Experience with at least one of the following:
    • Native or web app development
    • Framework and API development
    • Graphics and animation systems

Description

As an intern on the SwiftUI team, you will prototype new features and craft elegant APIs that surprise and delight our users. You will be responsible for bringing your ideas to life through all stages of their development: from initial research, to API design and proposals, to testing and development in Swift, to demoing to management. You’ll join us in energetic discussions on each other’s work and ideas, alongside members of other teams possessing a variety of different perspectives and domain expertises.

The SwiftUI team is responsible for the core SwiftUI and Swift Charts frameworks and works closely with UI framework teams across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. You’ll also have the opportunity to collaborate with experts throughout Apple including: compiler engineers, interface designers, and technical writers. Curious and enterprising individuals who take an expansive view of their role will thrive in this multi-disciplinary environment!

Our goal is to dramatically improve the correctness, performance, and polish of apps across all of Apple’s platforms—simultaneously making it easier for beginners to get started and empowering seasoned pros to make their apps shine. Because we have the privilege of collaborating closely with Swift, Xcode, HI, and framework teams up and down the software stack, we believe SwiftUI can be—by far—the best app development experience in the world. If you’re interested in helping define this future and pushing the state of the art forward, we’d love to hear from you!
